E-learning on Differentiated Instruction

As a teacher or educator, how can you deal with the differences between your students or pupils?

To help you with this process, we have created e-learning modules on differentiated instruction based on video interviews with educational professionals from the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.

In these various video interviews, we use as a common thread 5 principles that underlie effective differentiation:

  1. Strong goal orientation
  2. Monitor continuously
  3. Challenge
  4. Adapt instruction and exercises
  5. Stimulate self-regulation

The combination of these principles can be seen as a prerequisite for successful differentiation. These principles are the result of a study conducted by the University of Twente in cooperation with the University of Maastricht.

  • Dutch version of the e-learning:

On the Dutch version of the platform, you will find the e-learning created by Maastricht University with interviews of teachers and pedagogues from the Netherlands and Flanders.

The knowledge clips explain which principles are important when differentiating and discuss with teachers from the target group how these principles can be implemented in the specific context of MBO and labor market-oriented finality and in the context of HBO and the Hogeschool. The knowledge clips are part of a training where on-site sessions are also offered to teacher teams.

  • French version of the e-learning:

On the French version of the platform, you will find the e-learning created by CeCoTePe with interviews of teachers and pedagogues from the province of Liège.

We interviewed secondary and higher education teachers on their practices of differentiated instruction. These practices are put into perspective according to the expertise of the educational researchers we met. They are also discussed on the basis of a pre-established theoretical model.

  • English version of the e-learning:

The English version of the platform comprises translations from both Dutch and French original e-learnings.
